The first court hearing in this case took place on November 6. Details are not being disclosed at this time, but the defendant has agreed to cooperate with the investigation and revealed the main beneficiary of the illegal scheme – Eduard Lebedev.
Previously, Lebedev had been mentioned in several investigations of illegal casino activities in European countries. In particular, he may be linked to a criminal scheme involving money laundering through gambling establishments.
Cyprus actively cooperates with Europol and other international law enforcement agencies. The court case against Lebedev’s accomplice is part of a large-scale campaign to expose illegal gambling operations in Europe.
